Northern Arc represents Canadian companies, associations, and organizations with elected officials and decision-makers at the federal, provincial, and municipal levels of government. Our principals have worked at the highest levels of Canadian government. We bring that experience to every file.

Government Relations Planning

We assess the full government relations landscape for your organization, identify where your interests intersect with government priorities, and develop a clear strategy to advance them. Intelligence gathering is at the core of every engagement, and rigorous planning is the primary task before any approach to government begins.

Lobbying and Direct Engagement

Direct engagement with elected officials and decision-makers is often the determining factor in achieving successful outcomes. Our principals are registered lobbyists under the Lobbying Act of Canada, with experience at the federal, provincial, and municipal levels of government. We ensure the right people understand your file before decisions are made.

Funding and Procurement Navigation

The federal and provincial governments administer hundreds of funding programs and procurement vehicles across innovation, defence, cleantech, housing, agri-food, and regional development. Northern Arc assesses every program relevant to your organization, produces a Federal and Provincial Opportunities Briefing Note with a calculated funding and procurement target specific to your company, and coordinates a strategy that maximizes the total opportunity.

Policy Development and Stakeholder Engagement

We articulate and demonstrate the policy impact of our clients' positions in a format that moves decision-makers. This includes policy submissions, advocacy materials, briefing notes, and representation before parliamentary committees and regulatory bodies. We also build and coordinate stakeholder coalitions when broader support is required to advance a file.

How We Engage

Northern Arc works on a monthly retainer basis. Our standard engagement is structured for organizations pursuing significant government relations objectives: federal funding, procurement positioning, regulatory approvals, or sustained policy engagement. We are a registered lobbying firm operating under the Lobbying Act of Canada. Our principals are registered lobbyists. The retainer model is the only fee structure available to registered lobbying firms under Canadian law.

For organizations with more targeted objectives, we offer scoped engagements structured to reflect the specific file. Contact us to discuss what makes sense for your situation.
