$51 Billion in Federal Infrastructure and Your Municipality Is Not Positioned to Capture It

On April 7, 2026, Prime Minister Carney launched the Build Communities Strong Fund, committing $51 billion over ten years to community infrastructure. The Fund's Direct Delivery stream allocates $6 billion where municipalities apply directly to Ottawa. The Canada Public Transit Fund adds $3 billion per year. The Disaster Mitigation and Adaptation Fund has committed $3.4 billion for climate resilience. The Housing Accelerator Fund is deploying direct federal funding to municipalities for housing supply acceleration.

Most municipalities between 25,000 and 250,000 people do not have federal government relations capacity. Their Mayors know their local MP. Their CAOs submit applications through portals. But they are not positioned at the ministerial level where infrastructure funding decisions are actually shaped.

The gap is not eligibility. It is positioning. Northern Arc ensures that when your municipality's application reaches a decision point, the political groundwork is already in place.
